 Tier I offers an introduction to the basics of horseback riding, horsemanship and horse care.  Tier I lessons provide a strong basis in the fundamentals of riding while encouraging riders to have fun in a safe environment.  Tier I riders usually graduate to Tier II after the first 10 lessons.

 Tier II provides the next step for riders who have completed our Tier I or have previous riding experience.  Our Tier II instructors work closely with their students to improve on basic riding skills, like balance and control, and introduce more advanced concepts such as accuracy and effectiveness. For those riders looking to learn the basics of jumping, Tier II provides the opportunity to become confident over small jumps before moving to the next level. Tier II riders are also expected to further their knowledge of horse care and horsemanship by learning how to prepare their horse for lessons and to become more aware of their surroundings both in the barn and in the ring. Riders are encouraged to participate in the before and after care of their horse as well to expand their education about using more advanced equipment and understanding parts of the horse. This tier also provides a wonderful group of horses and instructors for the recreational rider of any level that simply wishes to spend time in the saddle and around the horses. Tier II riders may not move to Tier I but are not required to move to Tier III.

 Tier III provides the opportunity for riders to take their riding to the next level on the flat or over jumps. For riders looking to focus on flat-work or jumping, Tier III offers riders the opportunity to focus on a specific discipline and refine their skills.  Tier III riders are introduced to more complex concepts related to effectiveness and control of the horse and are expected to display a thorough knowledge and execution of the basic skills learned in Tier II. Tier III riders should be confident in their basic knowledge of preparing their horse before and caring for them after the lesson and display a thorough understanding of barn and ring etiquette. Riders are always are expected to follow the rules of the barn and the ring, display good sportsmanship and to treat instructors and other riders with respect.  Tier III riders are also encouraged, but not required, to participate in our Horse Show Program.  Riders can learn about the ins and outs of competing in horse shows at our facility or travelling to shows off site.  They can also learn about organizing a horse show and may volunteer at one of our home shows.
